My great great great grandfather was named Harmon P. Vanderbeck who died in 1867. I found his death certificate at the NYC Municiapl archives. The death certificate named his buriel site as Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn. When I went there, they did not have him listed. They said he was not buried their. Only after I showed the certificate did they go in the back and within three minutes found the record. The man there then admitted that many of the burials from the 1800s are not listed in their on line directory or on site kiosk as they indicate. Harmon's son John Jacob is also not listed and he died a month before his father! They did tell me that they maintain some vital information; however, you have to send the $22.00 for the plot information and $17.00 for the personal vital statistics of each person in the plot. If you think that this Issac Vanderbeck is your ancestor, you can send away to them. Check out their web site at www.greenwood-cemetery.com (or is it .org?).
P.S. If you ever find anything out about a Harmon and Catherine Vanderbeck in NYC/NJ in the 1800's please let me know. Their daughter was Sarah Vanderbeck (my gggrandmother) who married Richard Barnecott.
