Anthony J. "Tony" Chiaramonte, 75, a lifelong resident of Hampton and Richland Townships, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009. Born on Sept. 29, 1934, in Allison Park, he was the son of the late James and Agnes (Vilsack) Chiaramonte. Also preceded in death by one granddaughter, the late April Chiaramonte; and four siblings, the late John Imhoff, Ruth Sanders, Alverna Dulacy and Annabelle Markovich. Beloved husband for 54 years of Joan F. (Bennett) Chiaramonte; loving father of Gail Ann "Carina" Chiaramonte, of New Zealand, Terry Chiaramonte and his wife, Kathy, of Florida, Danny Chiaramonte and his wife, Carole, of Shaler, Diane Ebel and her husband, Rick, of Valencia, Glenn Chiaramonte and his wife, Kathy, of Richland, Roy Chiaramonte, of Richland, Elaine Chiaramonte, of Richland, and Dean Chiaramonte and his wife, Heather, of Etna; brother of Clare Chiaramonte, of Richland; brother-in-law of John Bennett and his wife, Scheryn, of Hampton; dear grandfather of Harley, Spencer and Lark Davis, Eric, Terry and Christopher Chiaramonte, Erica and Shannon Kosarich, Justin Good and his wife, Kristen, Bryan Good and Karrie, Andrew, Sarah and Amanda Ebel, Brianne Strong and her husband, Ben, Kacy Chiaramonte, Eric Galcik and Anthony and Isabella Chiaramonte; also survived by five great-grandchildren, Crystal, Alauna, Christian, Carter and Sophia. Tony was employed with Glenshaw Glass Co. for 16 years, was an independent news distributor for the Pittsburgh Press and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for more than 28 years and along with his wife, Joan, owned Land of Sweets Bakeries in Richland and Shaler and was the original owner of Richland Soft Serve. Upon retirement, he joined his wife as a realtor with Coldwell Banker Real Estate. Tony loved his children and grandchildren and especially loved to sing with them. He enjoyed playing his guitar, karoake, swimming parties with friends and family, visiting casinos and traveling with his best friends, Judy and Paul Bagnall. Tony was an avid supporter of his local police agencies. Family will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, Richland Township, 724-443-1505. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Richard Church. Please meet at church. Interment will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations be sent to the North Hills Boroughs and Townships Police Association, c/o The Chiaramonte Family, PO Box 572, Gibsonia, PA 15044. In an effort to give back to the local blood banks, the family also invites the public to a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009 at St. Richard Church, 3871 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044.
