LONDONDERRY: Bernard E. Carroll, 95, of Londonderry, Ohio, (Ross County) died 12:55 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in Traditions of Chillicothe following a brief illness.
He was born August 23, 1918, in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Roy and Carrie Friend Carroll.
On January 29, 1949, he married the former Evelyn L. Bethel who died December 5, 2013.
Surviving are a daughter, Cathy (Wayne) Mercer, of Beavercreek, OH; sons, Dean (Darlene) Carroll, of Londonderry, Mark Carroll, of Londonderry and Dale R. (Alison) Carroll, of Londonderry; grandchildren, Julie (Rodney) Curd, Lori (Dan) Dunnigan, Steve Carroll, Ryan (Andrea) Carroll, Kaleena Carroll, Logan Carroll and Karissa (JR) Stauffer; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brothers, Vernon Carroll and Carl (Lucille) Carroll, both of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Rudy Carroll; brothers, Ray, Ira, Bob and Harry Carroll; and sisters, Gladys Wiley, Leona Carroll and Retha Hertenstein.
Bernard served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was retired owner and operator of Carroll Construction and was also a farmer.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Woodrow Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.
