Have you researched your family beyond your grandfather? Your grandfather was born almost a 100 years before George in Campbell County, TN You would have to get back at least as far as George Carroll in Tennessee to consider a connection. I have not been able to get beyond George in 1850. I know from census that he was born in Ireland in 1790. His wife Mary, last name unknown, was born in North Carolina. Their first child was born there about 1823. The other 4 children were born in Tennessee. There may have been other children I am not aware of. Two of the children stayed in Campbell County, one moved to Missouri and the two daughters -- I have no idea what happened to them. I know George and his wife died after 1855, most likely of consumption around. The daughters may have also died of consumption. The son who stayed in Campbell County died during the Civil War of, most likely, consumption. His sister, my great grandmother, also died of consumption in 1895. I have the information on the children of George and Mary except the two daughters I know nothing about. Without information on your family I can't say whether or not we might have a connection. There are several blank decades separating your Carrolls and mine. Have you submitted to Ancestry DNA project?
