Eula was born the eldest child of the late Dan and Mary Reed Hunter on Oct. 14, 1918, in Meridian, Mississippi.
On July 18, 1936, Eula married her husband of 63 years, Leo Carnathan, and to this union, five children were born, Leroy, Mary Ann, Cecil, Essie and Roger.

Eula Mae Carnathan was dedicated, dependable and devoted member and mother of the Jerusalem Baptist Church. She sang in the choir prior to becoming a member of the Usher Board. Impressive was her tenure as president of the Jerusalem Baptist Usher Board which spanned 59 years.

Throughout her life, Eula enjoyed traveling, whether a day trip to Cleveland, a week in Birmingham, Alabama, or a month in Miami.
She was an excellent cook and her “melt in your mouth” homemade rolls were No. 1 with everyone. Her life centered around her family.
She was truly the heart and soul of it. Most of all, this beautiful woman was the glue holding them together.
