Rocco Furfaro was born in the early 1870s. He married "Lucia" in approximately 1895, then immigrated to NYC, with his wife following a few years later. In 1900, they were living in Manhattan, but by 1905 had moved across the Hudson River to Fort Lee, NJ where they stayed. Verbal history tells me that Rocco was "Calabrese", but I have not been able to find his birth, marriage, or immigration records. I cannot figure out which town he was from. My family has always spelled the name Furfero, but it might have been Furfaro in Italy as that is the only spelling I have seen during my research .
