Yes, I do have some information, but precious little. It seems as though Erasmus died at Camp Abbington, Tennessee sometime during the civil war. I haven't pinned down the date yet or exactly where Camp Abbington was but I am still working on that. Also, I don't know why he died, whether from illness or wounds.

I talked with Gladys Freeman Cabaniss wife of Nelson Cabaniss of Tuscaloosa, this morning and she had asked me whether or not I had gone over to Belk to see Rasmus' grave and I told her that I had. I also took pictures of the headstone they had placed for him.

We are having a Cabaniss-Freeman reunion on July 7th at the Northside Lions Club in Samantha. Do you think you might be able to attend? This is for all Cabanisses. Let me know and I will tell you exactly how to get here.
