Funeral services for Carl Burriss, 80, of Crossville, who passed away March 15, 1998, were held March 18 from the chapel of Burris Funeral Home, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery.
He was born May 2, 1917 in Vanceburg, KY, the son of Tom Burriss and Annie Clark Burriss. Mr. Burriss was in maintenance.

Survivors include his daughters, Patricia Thompson of Crossville and Betty Crain of Fairfield Glade; son, Carl Ray Burriss of Portsmouth, OH; brothers, Joe Burriss of Willington, KY, and George Burriss of Garrison, KY; grandchildren, Shane Ketchum, Steven Burgess, Tony Holt, Nikki Burgess and Brad Holt; great- grandchildren, B.J. Ketchum, Laura Ketchum and Tristan Burgess; and special friend, Willie Mae Burgess of Cookeville.

Pallbearers were Shane Ketchum, Tony Holt, Brad Holt, Steve Burgess, Henry Hughes and Randy Qualls. The Rev. Vern Daugherty officiated.

Burris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
