I am reposting this query because my email is different than when I posted it before.
2I am looking for anyone who might be working on the family of Robert Brownfield who married Elinor Brownfield nee Archer who was disowned by Hopewell MM, Sept 9 1762. I know her maiden name is Hencher/Henshaw; she was widowed in 1761 had at least 2 sons with Jeremiah Archer, Quaker. I know that Robert was on the Rent Roles in Berkeley County VA in 1772 and 1777. I know he surveyed the Archer land so he was not illiterate. I believe he is Old Charles son who was married[?] to Eleanor Sutton. I believe that his son Robert Jr. was Eleanor Suttons but Charles and Rebecca are Elinor Henshaws children if the "real" dates I have seen are true.
My interest is in Thomas Brownfield of the White Swan. Are these two people his parents? Are they the parents of Martha Brownfield disowned by Hopewell MM in 1798 for marrying Edward Ridgeway of MD? Both Thomas and Martha were married by the same minister 5 years apart. Thomas named no children Robert or Elinor, it seems he named his children after his wife's family. Martha Brownfield Ridgeway named her first daughter Eleanor.
It seems to me the dates I have been able to nailed down make the time and place right but I need help from Robert/Eleanor families to see what they think about this theory.
