While doing research on my husband's family I ran across the following:

James W. BRIANS, son of Williams BRIANS and Elizabeth SMITH married Emma M. MOORE January 17, 1877 in Prarie County, Arkansas. Emma was the daughter of William L. MOORE and Mary C. MOORE (maiden name possibly ABINGTON). Emma Moore was born November 17, 1853 in Hickory Plains, Prairie County, Arkansas and she died August 7, 1913 in Arkansas. She is buried in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Independence County, Arkansas. James W. Brians was born September 5, 1852 in Cabarras County, North Carolina and died unknown. Emma and James had at least 1 child, William, born 1879 in Arkansas. James was a county sheriff according to the "Biographical and HIstorical Memoirs of Eastern Arkansas," page 687.
