Grietje a Mohawk woman, is nowhere recorded as such, one record in 1681 says" Grietje Borsboom and son" accused by the sheriff for illegal beaver trading
Pieter makes a will in 1684 and on 1 March 1686 his will is proven naming children ANna,Martye,Catherine, Fytie and Cornelis, he appoints a guardian for the children, apparently none of the children are married, but there is NO WIFE Giertje, so she died by 1684/86 and not around 1700.
(From NYS Historical literature abstracts of wills... v. 1 and v. 40)
It is noteworthy that the first recording for Pieter Jacobs Borsboom is in 1657 there is no documenttion prior to that also as son of Jacob Pieters Borsboom it is not feasable that he would be old enough to arrive in New Netherlands in 1639.
It is also noteworthy that between 1657 and 1660 Pieter Jacobs Borsboom appears about 18 times in court as defendant and about 3-4 times as plaintiff (from Minutes of the court of Ft. Orange and Beverwyck v. 2 by Laer)
If I find a proper place I like to post a detailed article about Pieter Jacobs Borsboom and other Borsboom family. Meanwhile, greetings Barbara
