Dear John, This is an excerpt from John Bowler's diary (a US soldier during WWII visiting Kells). In Dublin, he visited his Uncle Paddy and another Patrick. This is what he wrote: We got the same rooms at the Vaughn's Hotel and went to bed early. The next morning I went alone to see Uncle Paddy. I found him after a search in an upstairs tailors shop. He works for a cousin, also named Patrick Bowler, who came up a couple of times to ask about the army and to air his opinions on world politics. I didn't like his opinions. He was pro-Hitler and anti-Semetic. Consequently, I did not like him. I like Uncle Paddy. He is a small quiet mousy sort of man whom life has defeated. I had a drink with him on my return from my visit to cousin Catherine.

So, these two Patrick Bowlers were tailors in Dublin during WWII. I wonder if there is a connection.
Take care, debbie
