Born 1754 either in Germany or York Co, PA Married Elizabeth Calvert in Baltimore, MD in 1776.
Died October 22, 1815. Elizabeth Calvert was born in 1755 in MD, daughter of “an English
Nobleman, John Calvert.” Said to be a descendant of The Calvert family of Baltimore although that
claim is as yet unproved. Elizabeth is said to have gone west to Ohio between 1818 and 1827
possibly to help her son Jacob whose wife had died. Elizabeth died there on November 15, 1840.

The German spellings (actually petrus is Latin) for Peter and Lewis are from a list of baptisms (for Ludwig, Rael, and
Solomon) from the archives of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Glyde, PA. Peter's son David was also baptized at
Bethlehem Lutheran. Records for Trinity Church also known as Horn Church organized 1791 located in Marianna,
show that a confirmation class of 19 catechumens by Pastor Stauch on 12 November 1791 was held in the home of
Ludwig Pracker.

Ludwig resided in both Frederick Co. and Washington Co.(Washington Co was formed from Frederick Co.
in 1776) MD. Petition to take the Oath of Allegiance to support American cause dated 1780 in Frederick
Co, MD. Aug 19, 1785 Ludwig bought a tract of land called 'Wife's Fancy" in Washington Co MD. In
May 1787 Ludwig purchased a tract dalled "Burketts Loll" in Washington Co, MD. According to The 1790
Census Ludwig resides in Washington Co, MD (age ranges 01-04-04-00-00). In Oct, 1791 Ludwig (Pricker) bought
6 more acres of Burkhatts Lott due to a re-survey of the original purchase. Immediately thereafter Ludwig sells the
entire adjoining properties and moves to Woodbury township, Bedford Co, PA (now Blair Co. formed 1846) and is
on the tax lists for 1792/93. Ludwig (Pracker) then purchases 225 acres of land in Washington Co, PA on 13 October
1792, part ofa tract containing 318 and one quarter acres (Washington Co. Deed book II p536 on Ten Mile creek).
The original tract of 318¼ acres was originally patented to Jacob Need on November 8th, 1787 known as the
"Arnold" patent. Ludwig also buys several hundred acres of land in Knox Co, OH (on an 1809 Tax list for Knox
Co.) and splits the majority of this land among his children.

Ludwig's son George appears on the 1810 Census residing in Canton Twp.

Elizabeth married Christian Booze before 1812. Their child Julia Ann married Valentine Kinder III.

According to Howard Leckey in his book Ten Mile Country p.71 "Ludwig Bricker was one of three immigrant
brothers to come to America, Settling for a time in Maryland. Purchased land 7 March 1793 from Daniel Arnold
(Deed book 1-I, p535, Washington, co PA). Served in Revolution."

There is no proof that Ludwig served in the Revolutionary War. (Leckey is filled with inaccuracies).

Heirs listed Deed book 7 p.31 Greene Co, PA. Ludwig is buried in Horn Cemetery, Marianna, PA.
Heirs are listed on a Quit Claim dated 1830, in which Ludwig's heirs give up all claims to the property to Lewis
Bricker in exchange for $1200. Lewis then sells 225 acres of this land to David Wise for $4500.

There is a record of three Bricker Males Nicholas, Jacob, John residing in Cordorus Twp. York Co. PA

Recently, I’ve been told, a baptismal record for a Ludwig Bricker was found in York Co, PA dated 1753 listing
Nicholas and Elizabetha as the parents.
