I found a listing of the descendants of Lt. Colonel Abraham Bonnell in an old magazine. It did not supply references or sources of information. There was a colorful illustration of a family crest or heraldic shield with a blue lion rampant, surrounded by a number of blue crosses.

Americana (American Historical Magazine), volume XVIII, January 1924 - December 1924, The American Historical Society, New York, 1924, pages 466-468.

The following is from my notes and is not the complete article as the book was in fragile condition and I was not allowed to photocopy it. All comments in square brackets, [ ], are by me and are not part of the original article.

He married Rachel WOLVERTON, born April 17, 1766, died February 16, 1836. The WOLVERTON family traces in New Jersey to Charles WOLVERTON, who, on August 20, 1693, purchased one hundred acres of unsurveyed land in Burlington county in 1716 moving to Amwell, Hunterdon county, New Jersey, serving as a member of the Supreme Court in 1721. . . [Rachel WOLVERTON, great-granddaughter of Charles, is mentioned on page 39 of "The Wolverton Family, 1693 - 1850 and Beyond" by David A. Macdonald and Nancy N. McAdams, Penobscot Press, 2001. The authors refer to "William Bunnell and his Descendants" by Ruth Cost Duncan, Amundsen Publishing Company, Decorah, IA, in which the will of Clement DuMont Bonnell is quoted.]
