I am researching my Bliss family and the majority were into selling alcohol over many generations. The earliest ancestor I know of is John Bliss bc 1770 Harrow and Elizabeth Dyson. They were married 31 Dec 1794 at St Mary’s Harrow. John was licensee of the pub that was in the grounds of Harrow School - the Crown and Anchor. The children spread out across London and between them were licensees of more than 20 pubs. Our family has lost track of all the Bliss families and I'd love to track down living descendants.
