Hi Julia - Delilah's father was the brother of my g-g-grandfather, Nathan Blaydon. Nathan's daughter (Delilah's cousin), Sarah Matilda (known as Tillie) married Francis Futerall. Their granddaughter was my mother, who was in the Land Army during the war and came to Canada after the war as a war bride.I can trace the Blaydons back until 1734 clearly, and someone else has taken them back a further 2 generations (to 1650), but with a bit of uncertainty involved. I also have the parish register transcripts or Swaffham Bulbeck and Swaffham Prior on microfiche, and would be more than happy to look things up for you.
Basically, from as far back as I have gotten, the Blaydons started out in Dalham, Suffolk . John Blaydon (b ca 1700) was born there, subsequently moving to Wood Ditton Cambridgeshire. Then either the whole family or just the youngest son William (married to Sarah Haylock) wound up in Worlington Suffolk, where they had 9 children. We're descended from their son Matthew, who was born in Worlington SFK in 1769. He married Mary Miller of Burwell CAM in 1796. Mathew and Mary lived in Swaffham Bulbeck and had 10 children, of whome the youngest was William (b 1815 or 1816 -- this is great, I didn't realize untl this moment that I hadn't nailed down Willliam's birth year). William married Sarah Mott in 1834 and they had 4 sons (no daughters that I know of), Levi (bp 28 Jun 1835), Nathan (bp 5 Feb 1837), Hilkiah (b 23 Aug 1844) and Noah bp 29 Jun 1851).
Levi Blaydon married Martha Garrard on 11 Apr 1857 in Swaffham Bulbeck, and they had 11 children: Andrew, Lewis Garrard, Delilah, Sarah, Jane Elizabeth, Clotilda, Charles Jessop, Sophia, James Garrard, Matthew William, and Alice Maud ( have dates for all of them -- are you able to see my tree? as well as census details, etc., but those are the broad outlines)
