Robert G. Berkshire, age 79, of Chardon Township, OH, was born in Zanesville, Ohio on June 17, 1930.

He was a 40 year resident of the Chardon area who died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield Hts., OH.
Robert was Store Manager and Petroleum Manager for Landmark/Countrymark in Chardon, OH. Retired in 1995. He was a Lifelong employee with Landmark/Countrymark, starting in Zanesville, Circleville, Chardon, Lisbon and ending in Chardon, OH.

Robert G. Berkshire married Rosalie Charlene Bates in Zanesville, OH, on December 31, 1953. She preceded him in death on September 30, 1996.

He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Air Force, Staff Sergeant

He was a Member of the Chardon United Methodist Church, member and past-master of the Irville Lodge #184 F & AM in Nashport, OH, former member of the Al Koran Shrine, he attended The Ohio State University, was a Life member of Chardon VFW Post 6519 in Chardon, OH, member of the Geauga, Ohio Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #2261 in Chardon, OH, former member of the Geauga Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Berkshire of Chardon Twp., OH, Sandra K. (James) Sojka of Chardon Twp., OH, Bobbi Jo (Dominic) Lanza of Richfield, OH; four grandchildren, Christopher J. Sojka, Matthew R. Sojka, Kaley R. Lanza and Dominic F. Lanza Jr.; brother, Wayne (Elsie Ann) Berkshire of Marion, OH. He was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Beatrice (Nee: Kreager) Berkshire; his wife; sister, Rosamond Bender of Hopewell, OH; brother, Irvin Berkshire

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 23, at 11 a.m. in the Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St., Chardon, OH, with Rev. Daniel Drew of the Chardon United Methodist Church officiating.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (on St. Rt. 44, 500' South of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH.
Burial will be Thursday, September 24, at 1 p.m., at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville, OH. Chardon VFW Post 6519, 752 Water St., Chardon, OH 44024.
