YOUNGSTOWN – Philomena Koss, 88, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Omni Manor Health Care Center in Youngstown, OH.
Born Oct. 4, 1924, in Youngstown, Ohio she was the daughter of Rocco Anthony and Mary (Gentile) Berardino.
Philomena married Stephen Koss on June 4, 1949, and together they had a son, Robert.
Stephen passed away on Nov. 29, 2012.
Philomena was a member of the Disciples Christian Church. She was a former member of the Dogwood Golf League and Camelot Bowling League. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and tending to her flower garden.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Susan) Koss of Powell, Ohio and three sisters, Betty (Frank) Toman of Hubbard, Ohio, Lydia (Steve) Yaniw of Youngstown and Eva Berardino of Boardman, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Irene Perry and Margaret Palko; and four brothers, Joseph, Ralph, Elliot and John Berardino.
Visitation will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, from 3 to 4 p.m., with a funeral service at 4 p.m.
Private interment will take place at Forrest Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a choice charity in Philomena’s name.
