Good to see you are still searching our mutual ggg-grandfather, Jacques Louis Beaube.
Do you have a copy of my family history, LEES AND RELATED FAMILIES OF SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI - 1700-1995? Part III deals with my Beaube lineage as well as yours. You descend through Jacques Louis' son, James and I am through daughter, Sarah Elizabeth "Sallie" Beaube Coffey.
Jacques Louis was born in Cherbourg, France on Oct. 31, 1749 per his baptismal record from Cherbourg. He enlisted in the French military service in 1776 and came to America
about 1783 and, according to tradition, fought with the American Colonists as a mercenary soldier from France. He married in Cherbourg, France on Sept. 15, 1773 Marie Anne Coquet. Research does not reveal what happened to this marriage, but research in Jefferson Co., MS does indicate Jacques Louis did co-habitate with Susan Butcher who bore him 5 children. According to data from Henry Wadsworth Beaube, Susan was a Choctaw Indian. This has not been documented.

Harry, let me hear from you and know more about your immediate family. I only have you as a son of Albert Vardaman Beaube, b. April 30,1938 and twin to Robert Earl. Even though I have published a family history, I am still interested in completing lines. Also, the Lee family is planning to place a memorial marker in New Hope Cemetery in memory of Susan Butcher Beaube who is buried in an isolated, and long forgotten grave in Jefferson Co. To our knowledge she is buried there alone, most likely due to her nationality. Have lost Valorie's e-mail address. Have not heard from her in sometime.
