Barbara Bauman-Bowman aka Anna Barbara was born 1716 in Strasburg, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania and died circa 1790 in Bethel Twp., now Lebanon Co Pennsylvania. She married Christian Burgener-Burgner circa 1747 who was born 1717 in Grindelwald, Bern, Switzerland and died January 1754 in Bethel Twp., Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania; 37 years old. Christian Burgener’s sister, Fronica Burgener married two men named Valentine and Joseph Bowman who probably were related? She married second to Peter Dester in 1755. Christian Burgener-Burgner owned a farm of 160 acres in Bethel Twp. Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. After Christian Burgener-Burgner death in January 1754 his brother, Peter Burgner was appointed by the court to be Administrator of his Estate. He sold the farm to Peter Dester who by then had married Christian's widow, Barbara in 1755. Pursuant to the court order the 160 acres was sold on 2 September 1766 for 139 pounds and 10 shillings lawful money of Pennsylvania to the highest bidder, Peter Dester. He may have been the Peter Descher who arrived at Philadelphia on the ship “Anderson” on 25 August 1751. On 3 February 1784 Peter Doester-Dester was living in Bethel Twp. now in Lebanon Co., Pennsylvania. They had a daughter, Eva Elizabeth Doester b: 14 March 1756 in Bethel Twp., now Lebanon Co. Pa. and died 9 July 1839 in Tusseyville, Potter Twp, Center City, Pennsylvania
