Beekmantown — Linda E. Barcomb, 53, of Spellman Road in Beekmantown, passed away at her home on Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, after a long battle with cancer.

She was predeceased by her parents, Harold E. Jennette and Viola M. (Pearo) Jennette of West Chazy.

She married Arnold Barcomb Oct. 26, 1974. He died Oct. 27, 1989.

She is survived by six brothers and three sisters; Joe Jennette of Carrabelle, Fla., and Bridgewater Comers, Vt., Russell Jennette and his wife, Evelyn of Riverside, Calif., Morris Jennette of Glens Falls, N.Y., and Harold, Marcel and Wendell Jennette of West Chazy; her sisters, Shirley Christoffersen of Oroville, Wash., Patricia Jennette of West Chazy, and Jill Prasad of Marysville, Wash.; her maternal aunt, Ada Vassar and her husband, Maynard of Chazy; her paternal aunt, Helen Fountain and her husband, Herbert of West Chazy. Linda also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in New York, California, Washington and Vermont. Linda also leaves Elmer G. Rice, her companion of more then ten years.

Linda enjoyed being a homemaker, "bingo", cooking, her pool and was especially proud of the Christmas trees she planted around her home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brown Funeral Home, Inc., Broad Street in Plattsburgh. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at a time to be announced. Interment will follow at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Chazy.
