My great grandparents are Abraham and Sarah (Holt) Bamford of Rochdale, England. Listed in the 1881 census are children: Joseph (b. 1851), James (b.1856), Alice (b.1860), Elizabeth (b.1864), Benjamin (b. 1865) and Abraham (b. 1867).

My grandfather is Joseph and his second wife (my grandmother) was Emma Latham of Cheshire. With Ernest and Arthur, children from his first marriage, and James and William, children with Emma, my grandparents emigrated to the United States around 1888. They settled briefly in Billerica, Massachusetts where Joseph worked in a velvet mill. Then they moved to North Andover, Massachusetts where Joseph worked at Sutton's Mill. Other children are John, Edith, Emma, Elizabeth, Hannah, Joseph,Robert and my father, Harry Russell.

I would be interested in hearing from any one about the children of my great grandparents; I have extensive information about the North Andover Bamfords because I was raised in my grandmother's house.
