If possible could you send me dates and places of birth, marriage and death of Walter Bailor, your grandfather? Also birth dates of his children? Any pictures would be most appreciated, especially of Mr. Bailor. I was unable to find a photo of him in any of the sources I researched. Any information you wish to share will be most appreciated.
I learned from the city newspaper that the family came to Athena from Weiser, ID, and they went to Eugene, OR, when they left about 6 1/2 months later. Perhaps Mr. Bailor served as an interim pastor since his time here was so short.
According to the Christian Standard magazine, he preached a notable sermon a few days before his death 26 July 1931.
I am gathering information for a supplement to be added to our church history book, and I hope to be able to write a paragraph or two that will help the reader see that Mr. Bailor and his family were real people, not just names on a page. I only just now thought to check all my old messages to see if anything new was here and was happy to find your note.
Thank you for sharing your information and photos (.jpeg, please, if you send them e-mail).
