Joe V. Baca, 70, of Clovis, NM, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be held at Muffley Funeral Home Thursday, September 20, 2012, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Rosary will be held at 9:30 am Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 am with Father Sotero Sena officiating.
Joe was born February 14, 1942, to Antonio V. and Nora (Garcia) Baca in Santa Rosa, NM. For 30 years he worked at Big Country Ford as a salesman. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and American Quarter Horse Association. Joe was an active supporter of Clovis High School Athletics, sponsor of New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch, and an avid Cowboys Fan.
Survivors include his two sons, James Dean Baca of Las Vegas, NV, and Joe Anthony Baca Smith (Beth) of Roswell, NM; a daughter, Kristen Hallenbeck (Scott) of Albuquerque, NM; two brothers, Tony Baca (Nancy) of Clovis, NM, and Ernie Baca (Julie) of Bosque, NM; a sister, Betty Moreno (Jerry Rivera) of Santa Rosa, NM; Partner, Elaine Zellner of Clovis, NM; four grandchildren, Chelsea Samario, Kayla Baca Smith, Garrett Hallenbeck, and Caden Hallenbeck; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Lupe Baca.
