Isaac Arnwine

This is what I have on Isaac Wheeler Arnwine:

Isaac was the son of Wesley Arnwine and Emaline McNeece (McNeice). 5 years after she married Wesley, Emaline married Jeremiah Ash.

I have both marriage records for Isaac's mother as well as census records for 1850, 1860, and 1880. In 1860, the Ashes were living in AR next door to Isaac McNew who married Mary Ann Arnwine -- Wesley's sister. In the 1880 census, she was living with her son James Ash in AR and had the last name Breeding -- evidently another marriage.

I'm not sure exactly why Isaac came back to TN. Perhaps the death of his step-father or his grandfather Daniel (d.1865). It could have also have been because AR seceded from the Union. Although some branches did have slaves, it was an issue that may have deeply divided the family (IN Arwines as an example). Also, reconstruction was a difficult time in AR. Perhaps he felt things would be easier in TN.

In TN he married Phebe E. Lewis. In 1870 they were in Claiborne Co. with a daughter, Sarah. The last record I have for Isaac is a land record in AR in 1883.

My husband is the ggg-grandson of Wesley's sister Roseanne who married Hugh Farmer. I also have information on Daniel Arnwine, his 3 brothers, father and uncle (founder of the IN Arwines...yes, no "n").

If I can be of any help, let me know.
