LANCASTER: Carl Steven Appel, Lancaster, Ohio, 63, died at Fairfield Medical Center Wednesday night after a long illness.
Carl was born in Lancaster on the 23rd of October in 1952, son of Luella Marilyn Appel, and was a life-long resident of Lancaster, attending and graduating from Lancaster High School, class of 1970. He was a member of Calvary Orthodox Lutheran Church.Carl lived with grandparents, Carl Henry and Mary Catherine Appel of 1020 Clayton Drive, until adulthood.
Carl is survived by his brother, Timothy Walter Green (Mary) of Laurelville, OH; sisters, Jeanette Carolyn Cave of Sacramento, California, Cynthia Lee Appel Ward of Delaware, OH, and Marilyn Raena Valentino of Delaware, OH.
He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Diane Lynn Bibler, in 2006.
He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, too numerous to list.
Music played a large role in Carl's life and he was proud to have been skilled on the guitar; playing with several local bands in his lifetime.
According to Carl's wishes, cremation will occur and no visitation or funeral will be held. A private family memorial will be conducted later in the year by his siblings and friends. The arrangements have been made by Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home.
