My great-uncle travelled out to the then British Guyana in 1947 to work as an overseer. I know he travelled from Avonmouth to Trinidad, with the plan to head on to British Guyana. - Source: passenger lists. I can't find him on the incoming lists for the UK.
Can anyone help me find out if he made it? And where i might find out where he worked. Family tales say he worked on a pum distillery as an engineer or possibly a papermill (although this may have been elsewhere)
Or really any soruces that might help me trace his time there?
I know he returned to UK to get married by 1960.
