Re: post 633598 on July 16, 2012.
Census of 1880 for Pepin, Wisconsin. Family of Carl Petterson age 40 and Clara his wife. Children were Alfrid, 12 and Gotfrid, 10.
The emigration lists a Laura age 35. This brings about some confusion so am looking for an explanation.
Also, in reading these entries today I see the Carl Pettersson family with additional children listed: Emma, 8; Phonea, 6; Oscar, 4; Ottilla, 1 all born in Wisconsin.
When was the next census in Pepin, Wisconsin? Family stories had it that several of the Pettersson children had died at a young age. In seeing the next census if they are not on it there would be truth to that.
Not long after settling in Pepin County Carl changed their surname to Lunberg at first and it was spelled Lundberg following that.
Any help in solving these queries would be appreciated.
