Sjolironningen, Sjolirydningen, Sjoliholtet, Sjolikvern, Sjolibrua, Sjolivern, Sjoligardene Are these farms in Asnes?
My line started in Asnes, Hedmark, Norway. I can go back to:
Anders Kristianson SJOLI 2 July 1746
(Father) Kristen Anderson SJOLI
(Mother) Gjertrud Bergersdatter
(Wife) Helene Pedersdatter
(Son) Kristian Anderson SJOLI Dec 1779
(Wife) Martha Torstensdatter OPSAL
m. Jan 1813
(Father) Torsten Knudson OPSAL
(Mother) Kersti ARNESDATTER
(SON) Tosten Kristianson SJOLI 22 February 1822
(Wife) Maren (Karen) Pederson
(Father) Peder Hanson
All of these I think where born & died in or near Asnes, Norway with the exception of Tosten & Maren. My father showed me a family plot in Blair, Wisconsin where his Father is buried and at the time he showed me about (1948) there were other markers next to his Father grave that he said were those of his grandparents (Tosten& Maren) but they have since disappeared.
Children of Tosten & Maren are:
Matea SJOLI 1849 m. John Ericksmoen 20 may 1880 in Norway
Christ Th SJOLI 14 May 1853 (My Grandfather)
Johanne SJOLI 1854 Believe she married Jon Holte and stayed in Norway. This info was taken from Mateas obit in 1934 Blair Press. Jon's death date 1880 in Norway?
Pauline SJOLI 1856
Laurtz SJOLI 1859 He was to have been a real good fiddle player. I have a picture of him playing one
Theadore Tostenson SJOLI 1891 He died in Superior, Wisconsin 1947
I can not read a word of NORWEGIAN and I have a photo copy of the Asnes Book and it is in NORWEGIAN.
I would like to find out more about the family members and if they to came across to the US.
I have not made no progress with this line for a long time and any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
