Can anyone identify any of the locations mentioned in a public notice from the Melbourne Argus of 4th August 1871. I am currently researching the LEVENY (or LEVENEY) family who are mentioned in the article, the text of which I have transcribed below, and would love to be able to identify where the property mentioned is located. I have been unable to find any of the places mentioned however. The text relates to a trespass notice placed by a neighbour by the name of John Frater and the land is described as follows:-
"All and singular that tract or parcel of land, situate on the right bank of the Ruka Ruka River about a mile from its mouth, and bounded as follows : - Commencing at Kivi Tei Lagi, and following Messrs Leveney and Strang's boundary to a hill known as Mi Minga; from thence to Vuna Vuna; and from thence to Koro Low; and from thence to Ula Reina; and from thence following ridge to the Dolo River; from thence to the Ruka Ruka River"
I regret my ignorance of the geography of the Fiji Islands, and have spent several hours this afternoon searching for these places online, without success.
Any advice would be very greatly appreciated
Many thanks in advance
