My great-great Grandmother Lucie Ann Riley was born on 12 November 1876 to Mary Ann Bull & James Riley at Cuerindi Station near Manilla or Quirindi (I have conflicting information) in New South Wales.

Between 1884–1888 the Rileys arrived in Darling Downs Area, including Lucie’s five sliblings James, Hester, Hercules, Lily and Arthur. Her final sibling Edith was born in Goondiwindi, Queensland in 1888.

Lucie herself had three sons in Goondiwindi - Matthias Victor Riley in 1894 when she was 17, Daniel Allen Riley in 1897 when she was 21 and Geoffrey Robert Riley in 1899 when she was 22. No father was listed on the birth certificate for any of the boys. Until recently my family were unaware of these three boys.

In 1902 Lucie (aged 25) married my great-great Grandfather Gustav Theodor Arnold Oehlmann (aged 33) in the Lutheran Parsonage in Toowooomba. Gustav had immigrated with his family from Prussia when he was three. Living in Toowooomba they had four children - Eric Theodore (1902), Edith Adelaide Greta (1904), my great grandmother Charlotte Mona Maud (1905) and Frederick Lamington (1906).

In 1907 Lucie Ann & Gustav separated. As far as our family knows, Lucie never saw the four children she had with Gustav again. While they were separated, in 1914 Lucie had another son, Norwood George, in Lady Bowen Hospital, Brisbane. Gustav and Lucie divorced in 1915. According to government records Norwood was never officially adopted but I don’t know if Lucie raised him herself.

Lucie’s mother Mary Ann Riley died in 1924. Lucie is listed as 45 and living on Mary’s death certificate (but I don’t know where). This is the last proof I have that she was alive.

I have spent much time trying to discover more about Lucie’s life and the whereabouts of her children. I have many questions:

* Where did Lucie Ann go after she separated from Gustav? Did she stay in Toowoomba, work and not see any of her seven children again? (Her second son Daniel knew she was his mother as she is listed on his enrolment papers for WW1 in 1915).

* Did Lucie Ann re-marry and have more children?

* Where/when did she die? (I cannot find a death certificate or cemetery record – perhaps she took someone’s name and was buried under that).

* Does anyone have any photos of Lucie?

* I would love to make contact with descendents of her first three boys and her youngest child Norwood George.

I would appreciate anyone's help! Thank you.
