"The death occurred in the Darwin Hospital on Wednesday last of Mrs. Nellie Fisher after a severe illness. At the time of her death Mrs. Fisher was the licensee of the Mataranka Hotel, Mataranka, which she established during the railway construction works, and which she has conducted ever since. In the days of construction and operation of the matworks at Parap, and for several years afterwards, she conducted the 2 1/2 Miles boarding house. The deceased was a native of Pleasant Creek, Victoria, and was 64 years of age. Mrs. Seale, of the Parap Hotel, and Mrs. Kirkwood (Mataranka) are daughters, to whom The Standard extends sincere sympathy."
