Reiter, William J.
MCFARLAND - William J. Reiter, age
89, of 5121 Farwell Street, McFarland,
died Saturday evening at his resi-
dence. William was born February 5,
1902 in Chicago, Illinois. He was mar-
ried in Chicago to Katherlne Wilton.
They were summer residents of Lake
Waubesa for many years following
their marriage. In 1944 they moved to
McFarland where they owned and op-
erated the McFarland Dairy until their
retirement In 1974. He was a member
of Madison's Doric Masonic Lodge, a
Life Member of the Scottish Rite Bod-
ies, and a 50 year member of the
Zor Temple. For 35 years, he was ac-
tive with the Zor Booster Band. Sur-
viving is his wife, Katherlne; a son,
Richard (Connie) Reiter of McFarland;
two grandsons, Thomas Reiter of
Madison, and Jerry (Tammy) Reiter
of McFarland; a sister, Elsie Peters of
DesPlalnes, Illinois; and four grandchil-
dren, Brandon, James, Margaret, and
Jeffrey Reiter. The family will greet
friends at the funeral home In McFar-
land on Tuesday, October 8,
from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Pri-
vate services will be held on Wednes-
day, at 11:00 a.m.. In the McFarland
Funeral Home. Reverend Paul A.
Quackenbush of the McFarland United
Church of Christ will officiate. The
family suggests that flowers be omit-
ted, and, If friends so desire, memori-
als be made to the Shrlners Crippled
Children's Hospital.

MCFARLAND — Katherine Marga-
ret Reiter, age 92, died on Wednes-
day, November 5, 1997, peacefully
at Friendship Manor Home in
McFarland. Sne was born on Sep-
tember 27, 1905, in Chicago, Illi-
nois, the daughter of the late Wil-
liam and Margaret Wilton. Kather-
ine Wilton and William Reiter were
married in Chicago, Illinois and
spent 63 wonderful years together.
Sne and her husband moved to
McFarland from Chicago in 1944
and together owned and operated
McFarland Dairy until 1973. Kath-
erine's father owned a home on
Lake Waubesa where she spent her
childhood summers, and later
moved into the home in 1944 with
her husband where they resided
until 1987. She was a member of
the Eastern Star, White Shrine,
McFarland Senior Citizens and the
McFarland Low Vision Group. She
is survived by her son, Dick
(Connie) Reiter of McFarland; two
grandsons, Tom (Terri) Reiter of
Fitchburg, and Jerry Reiter of
McFarland; five great-
grandchildren, Brandon, Jim,
Gretta, Jeff, and Nicholas; her sister,
Madeline Anderson of Arlington
Heights, Illinois; and a good friend,
Mike Zwirkle. She is further sur-
vived by many nieces, nephews,
relatives, and friends. Katherine
was preceded in death by her hus-
band; her brother, William Wilton;
and her granddaughter, Tammy
Reiter. Funeral services will be held
on Friday, November 7, 1997, at
7:30 p.m. at OLSON-HOLZHUTER-
Hwy. 51 in McFarland. The Rever-
end Paul Quackenbush will offici-
ate. Friends may call prior to serv-
ices from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
at the funeral home. In lieu of flow-
ers, the family suggests memorials
be made to the Shriners Crippled
Childrens Fund. The family would
like to thank the staff at Friendship
Manor Home and Beth Egel of
Hospice for their loving care.
