[Better late than never???]

According to information in "Wisconsin - Its Territorial and Statehood Post Offices" (published in 1995 by the Wisconsin Postal History Society) the post office at "Shuey's Mills" was established 22 June 1854 with JOHN SHUEY as postmaster. As noted by another researcher, the name of the village was changed to "Clarno" on 23 December 1887 with Benjamin F. Aolf as postmaster. The post office at that location was discontinued 28 February 1959 with mail service from Monroe.

Since the time of your original query, it's possible (likely?) that you've found John Shuey's name from other sources, but I wanted to add it after seeing the other new response.

Happy hunting!
