Mavis Joy Beilfuss, 87, of Cecil, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, in Shawano. Mavis was born on Oct. 26, 1924, to the late John and Thyra (Malley) Anvelink in Shawano County.

She graduated from Shawano High School in 1942. She worked at the Shawano Paper Mill. On Aug. 24, 1946, she married Lorenz Beilfuss in Navarino. Together they farmed and raised five children. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2001. Mavis was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church White Clay Lake, Cecil. She was a member of Immanuel Ladies Aid, LWML and she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family, gardening and snowmobiling. Lorenz and Mavis learned to square dance and liked going to the dances. Mavis had a special gift of making her home warm and inviting for her family. She was a kind, gentle and Christian lady and enjoyed very much being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren, daughter, Corinne (Bob) Hoppe, Cecil, their children, Kim and Quinn; son, Randy (Pam) Beilfuss, Eagle River, Alaska, their children, Paula and Joanna; son, Richard (Karen) Beilfuss, Cecil, their children, John, Jenny and Debbie; son, Loren Beilfuss, Cecil, (special friend, Cheryl Perry of Green Bay), his children, Angela, Melissa and Travis; daughter, Sheila (Mike) Raddant, Shawano, their daughter, Ashlee; also 10 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Thyra Anvelink; stepfather, Paul Knutson; her husband, Lorenz Beilfuss; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Henry Klosterman.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church White Clay Lake, Cecil, with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Family and friends may call on Tuesday at Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Immanuel Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given.

The family would like to thank the staff at Birch Hill Care Center for their loving and wonderful care. Thanks also to Rev. Pockat for his pastoral care and spiritual support.
