Ruth H. Nienke, age 76, of 188 7th Street, Clintonville, died Sunday afternoon, April 21, 1991 at the Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah, WI after a lingering illness. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Clintonville assisted her family with the arrangements.
Mrs. Nienke, the former Ruth Hazel Gartzke, was born April 29, 1914 in the Town of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, the daughter of the late Arthur & Alma (Raisler) Gartzke. At the age of 15 she moved to Clintonville with her mother and on Oct. 7, 1939 was united in marriage to Louis J. Nienke in Clintonville. The couple lived all of their married life in the Clintonville area where Mrs. Nienke was employed at the Clintonville Tribune Gazette for 7 years and later as a cook in the Clintonville Public School System for 10 years. She was a member of the Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. Mr. Nienke preceded his wife in death on August 9, 1988.
Survivors include, two sons, David (Loretta) Nienke, Chicago, Alan (Debra) Nienko, Clintonville; two grandchildren, Travis and Megan Nienke. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24 at the Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Bruce Beyer officiating. Burial was the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville.
