Walter Joosten
Walter Joosten, 89, Rt. 1, Junction City, died at 5:05 a.m. today at Edgewater Haven following a nine-month illness. He had been a patient at Edgewater for about a month.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Philip's Catholic Church, Rudolph, the Rev. Robert Perkins officiating, with burial in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Joosten was born at Rushville, Neb., Jan. 1, 1888, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Joosten, and married Philomena Stelzer on Aug. 18, 1908. He farmed and lived at Rudolph for 77 years. He was a Portage County supervisor for about 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, Rt. 1, Junction City; five sons, Lawrence, Leo, Chester and Elmer, all of Wisconsin Rapids; and Tony, Rudolph; four daughters, Mrs. Ray Kitowski, Stevens Point; Mrs. Robert Slattery, Rudolph; Mrs. John Thompson, Wisconsin Rapids; and Mrs. Edward Mras, Rudolph; two brothers, Chris and William, both of Rudolph; three sisteis, Mrs. Henry Steege, Rudolph: Mrs. Anna Johnson, Wisconsin Rapids; and Mrs. Frank Brey, Greenwood and 50 grandchildren, 33 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Higgins & Sons Funeral Chapel from 2 p. m. Sunday and until time of services on Monday. A parish prayer service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ray Kitowski
Mrs. Ray Kitowski of 2323 Stanley St., died Wednesday evening at St. Michael's Hospital.
Mrs. Kitowski, 58, was stricken that afternoon while shoveling snow at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St Stanislaus' Catholic Church, with the Rev. Francis Piekarski officiating, with burial in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Shuda Funeral Chapel after 2 p.m. Friday.
At 7:30 p m. Friday, the rosary will be said there by Rose 23, St. Stanislaus' Rosary Society, and St. Elizabeth's Court, National Catholic Society of Foresters. Mrs. Kitowski was leader of Rose 23 and a member of St. Elizabeth's Court.
A general rosary will be said at 8:15.
Mrs. Kitowski was the former Margaret Joosten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Joosten. She was born Feb. 11, 1917, in rural Junction City, and attended school in Rudolph.
She was employed by Consolidated Papers, Inc., in Wisconsin Rapids and at the Junction City Post Office.
On Sept. 14,1946, she was married at St. Philip's Catholic Church, Rudolph, to Mr. Kitowski
At the time of her death, she was employed as a waitress at Jim's Legion Lunch. She was also a waitress at weddings.
Mrs. Kitowski had worked as a Bloodmobile volunteer.
She is survived by her husband, a carpenter; three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Carol) Haas, Fairview Village, Mrs. Ronald (Linda) Parks, Rothschild, and Myra, at home; a son, Gary, 201 West St.; her mother, Mrs. Walter Joosten, Route 1, Junction City; a grandson; five brothers, Lawrence, Leo, Chester and Elmer Joosten, Wisconsin Rapids, and Tony, Rudolph, and three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Loretta) Slattery and Mrs. Edward (Lorraine) Mras, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. John (Viola) Thompson, Rudolph.
Her father and a brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Walter Joosten
Mrs. Walter Joosten, 87, Route l, Junction City, died Wednesday afternoon at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St Philip's Catholic Church, Rudolph. The Rev. Robert Perkins will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the Higgins & Sons Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids. The Christian Mothers of St. Philip's, of which she was a member, will hold a prayer service at 3:30 p. m. A parish prayer service will be held at 7 p. m.
The former Philomena Stelzer was born July 1,1888, in Menasha, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stelzer. She married Walter Joosten on Aug. 18, 1908, in Rudolph.
Mrs. Joosten's survivors include five sons, Lawrence, Leo, Chester and Elmer, all of Wisconsin Rapids, and Tony, Rudolph; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Slattery, Rudolph, and Mrs. John Thompson and Mrs. Edward Mras, both of Wisconsin Rapids; three brothers, Matt Stelzer, Wisconsin Rapids, Charles, Junction City, and Joseph, Port Edwards; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Joosten and Mrs. Joseph LaMers, both of Wisconsin Rapids, 50 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
