Haakon Frederick Sivilhaug
Haakon Fredrick Sivilhaug was born in Lille Elvedalen, Norway, March 22, 1859. He graduated from the Tronhjems Technical College in 1881, and came to America a year later. He was employed as civil engineer by the Chicago, Minneapolis, Manitoba R.R. Co. for two years and later for one year by the C.B.& Q. R.R. Later he went to Chicago where he was employed as a structural draftsman.
Haakon Sivilhaug died January 7, 1916 of Perityphlitis after undergoing an operation for appendicitis. The funeral was held at the Jacob Hoganson home in Spring Lake and in the Spring Lake church, with burial in the Spring Lake cemetery January 10, Rev. Kvaase of Spring Valley officiating.
He is survived by an aged mother, one brother and three sisters in Norway and an uncle and several cousins in this country.
