Gurin Jerry Jacobson was born Jan. 20, 1864, in Alvdal, Norway, to Lars Jacobson and Marie Folden. He came with his parents to Spring Lake, Pierce County, WI in 1867, at the age of three. His young manhood was spent on the home farm, in logging camps and sawmills. He purchased a farm in 1893 which he worked for many years. In his declining years, he disposed of his property to his nephew Charles Jacobson, with whom he has since made his home.
He died at the Menomonie Hospital from the effects of a stroke on Sunday, Dec. 26th, at the age of 90 years and 11 months.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Marie Folden of Mondovi and Mrs. Lena Ryan of Glenwood City, together with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were held from the Spring Lake Church on Wednesday, December 29, with burial in Spring Lake Cemetery. Rev. Carsten Smeby, officiated.
