George I. Beck
Gerhard Inglard Beck was born to Tholine and Andrew Beck, November 11, 1885 in the town of Spring Lake, Pierce County, WI.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Spring Lake Lutheran Church and had been an active member, also served as custodian for many years.
The most part of his life was spent on the home farm in Spring Lake where he was born. The last few years after leaving the farm he worked for Armco Steel in Iowa. Since his retirement from Armco Steel eight years ago, he had made his home with his brother Charlie of Knapp.
George became ill recently and had undergone surgery at Luther Hospital, in Eau Claire where he passed away Wednesday at the age of 73 years.
His parents and two brothers, John and Albert preceded him in death. Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. Anna Johnson of Minneapolis, Albina, Mrs. Ervin Timm, of Wilson, two brothers, Charlie of Knapp, Louie of Spring Valley, six nephews, 5 nieces and many more distant relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday 1 p.m. at the Spring Lake Lutheran Church with the Rev. W. C. Aanestad officiating. Interment was in the family plot in the Spring Lake Cemetery.
