The photos my grandmother (Ella Becker McDermott) saved contain some pictures of a flood. On the back is "N.L. Flood" and I believe they're dated 1922 or 1924 - possibly August.
I tried searching on the Internet for "1924 flood New London" but haven't found much. Was there a flood, or does "N.L." stand for something else? Are the photos even of the same event? There is a chance that there were two, one in New London and one in North Fond du Lac - I'm not certain.
The photo attached is of the Exchange Billiard Room and Bowling Alley. Above the door it says "J C Hickey" - which I *just now* noticed and who was married to my great-grand aunt Marie Rollo. Does anyone know of this building, does it still exist and was it in New London?
