Okay, I have a really unusual question for you! Is it possible that at one time a Klaver family in Noord Holland was wealthy enough - I mean REALLY wealthy! - to have given the government of Holland a loan during a time of financial crisis? This may have happened in the 1700's or a bit later. This has always been the family lore and the tale further says that the government had trouble paying the money back. I find this hard to believe but wonder if you had ever heard anything like that. I think that the family in question may include:

Pieter Dirkez Klaver
born April 23, 1764 in Noord Holland
died Nov. 23, 1806 in Ursem, Noord Holland
married to:
Sijbrecht Jans Geldebos
born June 25, 1764 in Noord Holland
died April 28, 1836 in Noord Holland

Their son Theodorus "Dirk" Klaver and his wife Grietje Veldhoen were thought to have been quite wealthy. We believe that Grietje (after she was widowed perhaps) was involved in a cattle buying business and her cattle were sold in England and France. Does this sound plausible?

Theodorus Klaver
born April 30, 1803 in Schemer, Noord Holland
died Nov. 20, 1859 in Holland
married to:
Grietje Veldhoen
born Jan. 23, 1806 in Hem, Venhuizen, Noord Holland
died March 20, 1876

I would appreciate your thoughts on this!
