Hurley Legion Commander's Call.
Thomas Reynolds, 85, a Civil war veteran, who enlisted in 1861 with the 24th Michigan Volunteers in the medical detachment, will be a guest of honor at the Hurley American
Legion Memorial Day program tomorrow morning, Frank Erspamer, commander of the post said this morning.
Fifteen years ago Mr. Reynolds lost, his discharge papers when his home burned, but, according to his story he served with that regiment for one year, being discharged in
1862. He enlisted in the outfit in Detroit.
Mr. Reynolds Answers.
Mr. Reynolds was the only veteran who answered Mr. Erspamer's call for Civil war soldiers, and it is believed
that he is the only one remaining in Iron county at the present time. He will have a place of honor in the parade and the services at the cemetery afterward.
The parade in Hurley will start from the American Legion club rooms across from the court house and will march west on Copper street to the Memorial cannon, on Granite street, it will cut back to Silver street and down that thoroughfare
to Second avenue, on Second to Iron and thence on highway 51(number hard to read) to the cemetery where the memorial program will be given.
Members of the American Legion, the Auxiliary and other fraternal organizations will march in the parade. Three gold star mothers, Mrs.William Webber, Mrs. Sarah Landry
and Mrs, Henry Poole will be given places of honor in cars in the parade and at the services at the cemetery.
Program Is Given.
The program there will include:
Memorial prayer, Rev.P.F. Myer.
Placing of flowers on the graves.

Star Spangled Banner, Audience.
Benediction, Rev. P. P. Myer.
