Mesdames Burr Jones and Frank Frazee Head Reunion Group of Cushman Family

Mrs. Burr Jones as reelected president and Mrs. Frank Frazee, secretary and treasurer, at the thirteenth annual reunion of the Cushman family held Sunday on the lawn of the late J. H. Cushman residence in Rewey.

Oher Evansville residents in attendance at the gathering were Mrs. George Mabie and Miss Marjorie Frazee. Mrs. Lee Baker, Platteville, was chosen vice president.

It was decided to hold the 1941 reunion on the third Sunday in June at the same location. The Cushman residence in Rewey is an appropriate place for the reunions of the family in that it is now owned by two daughters, Mrs. Frank Frazee, this city, and Mrs. M. S. Block, Platteville.

The property was originally owned by Mr. and Mrs. Cephas Cushman, parents of the late J. H. Cushman. The pioneers erected the buildings in 1895 and continued to reside in the home until heir death in 1913 and 1918.

The property was then purchased by Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Cushman, parents of Mrs. Frazee who resided there until their death. During the lifetime of Mr. and Mrs. Cephas Cushman the residence was the scene of many happy family gatherings and holiday dinners. The ancestors of the family came ot America on the Mayflower from England and after many years some of the descendants came to Wisconsin.

Since the last reunion, Mrs. George Burrington, formerly Ruby Cushman, died suddenly in her home at Wauwaotsa in May. She was the only daughter of C. B. Cushman, Milwaukee.

Of the six sons of Mr. and Mrs. Cephas Cushman, only two are now living. They are C. B. Cushman, the youngest, residing in Milwaukee Milwaukee, and Ezra Cushman, Rewey. The latter was the oldest in attendance at last Sunday's reunion. He is past 80 and is the father of Mrs. Owen Hughes, Madison.
