From the Wisconsin Dells Events, 21 June 1934.

Mrs. Catherine Magee, wife of Lon Magee, who has lived in this Section all her life, died at the Madison hospital on Friday after an illness extending over some time. Mrs. Magee was taken sick several months ago and for a time was in the hospital at Mauston. Later she came home, but failing to recuperate from her illness was taken to Madison for treatment, but nothing could be done to save her life and she passed away on Friday last.
Mrs. Magee, whose maiden name was Catherine Cook, was 48 years of age and was a native of Adams county, having lived in this section all her life. Besides her husband, she leaves eleven children to mourn her untimely death. The funeral was held on Sunday, attended by a large number of friends of the family.
Charlotte Adella Cook was born at Twin Valley January 11, 1886. She attended the rural school and at the age of 17 began a successful teaching career which she followed for five years. On March 11, 1909 she was united in marriage with Alonzo L Magee. To this union were born eleven children, George, Charlie, Lillie, Vern, Mavis, Ethel, Bernice, Edna, Harold, Howard, Russell, all at home.
Early in the winter her health began to fail and on March 1st she was taken to the Mauston hospital for treatment where she remained several weeks. Then was brought to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cook. Her condition became so serious that she was taken to the Wisconsin General hospital at Madison, where she passed away Friday evening, June 15, at the age of 48 years, 5 months and 4 days.
The bereaved family may be comforted by the fact that everything humanly possible was done to make her comfortable.
Mrs. Magee was a very devoted wife and mother and guided her family cheerfully and bravely, and will be greatly missed in her home.
She leaves her husband and children, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cook and two brothers Ned and Henry, and a host of other friends and relatives.
Services were held Monday at ten o’clock at the White Creek church, burial was made at the Olin cemetery. Rev S J Lambright officiated.

**There are errors in this article as it appeared in the newspaper. Her name is Charlotte, not Catherine. The funeral was on Monday, not Sunday. **
