George Dice probate died ca 1795
Eric Hedrick has another great find at the court house in Franklin. There was an envelope of receipts, settlement papers, and other original documents filed under Joseph "Erbach" which actually belonged to the George Dice estate. Eric included these with George's probate document photos. These photos are on Eric's 2nd CD of Pendleton County probate http://www.erichedrick.com/pendprobate/
The George Dice probate is particularly complicated and these documents shed some light on the interactions and problems between his estate, the estate of Matthias Dice, and the remarried Widow Dice. Among the papers are a receipt for the laying off of the Widow's dower and a receipt for payment of three years rent for the George Dice heirs' portion of Matthias Dice's land. Additonally there are various original signatures.
This is a great find for the Dice researchers. I hope someone works this file and posts the findings.
Other compilations of probate documents on the 2nd CD include William Clifton, George Coil, George Evick, William Gragg, Justus Henkle (Jr), John Morral, and Henry Seybert.
