An interesting thread to read through. I am a distant relation on the Runyon side. Grace Runyon Rush's Grandfather John Martin and my GG Grandfather Gilford Runyon were brothers. I was trying to piece together the Rush family myself before I found this series of posts. After my own experience I can see why there is so much confusion. It seems like the family was always divided up and sometimes duplicated when it came time to take the census. For example, where is Grace in 1910 and where is Dillard in 1920?
I also can't figure out what happened to Lewis, Doris and Charles. Dillard's Obit indicates Lewis was dead by then but Doris and Charles were living.
Is it assumed that the Harry Rush living in Stevens County in 1900 married to a Laura with a daughter Theodosia is Orillis Rush as well? He was much older than Grace so it makes sense he had a previous marriage.
