I am researching the daughter of my ggg-grandfather, John Hefflefinger, of Henry County, VA. In his will proved in 1809 he specifies that his daughter, Elizabeth Boyer or Royer, have her share of the inheritance held in trust for her so that her husband can not access it. By the time his estate is settled in 1819, Elizabeth has remarried to someone named "Huffman" and had a daughter, Sallie. By 1820 she is living in the household of her brother, Jacob Hefflefinger, and in 1830, another of her brothers. She later purchases land from her brother Jacob and in her will gives all of her estate to her daughter, Sallie, to be held in a trust and does not give control of it to her son-in-law, Freeman Wells.

I have not been able to locate a marriage bond or marriage record for Elizabeth Hefflefinger Boyer/Royer Huffman in either Henry County, Virginia or Rockingham County, North Carolina. I have been unsuccessful in identifying the name of her Huffman husband or determining whether or not he had died and left her a widow. Elizabeth signed the settlement of her father's estate where as her sisters' husbands signed in their place, which indicates that she was a widow by 1819 especially since she is living in the home of her brother on the 1820 census.

Any information on the Huffman line that would give me some insight into this person in my family would be greatly appreciated.
