IN 1744, William Stiles died in Henrico County. According to Henrico County Deed Book 144-17748, an Inventory of his Estate was made as follows:
An Inventory of all and Singular, the Goods and Chattles of William Stiles decd. Praised by order of the Court, the 2nd day of Janaury, 1744,(Should be 1745) by us, the Suborribers, Mary Stiles, Widow and administratrix. Inventory showed Case 2 Pounds and 7 Shillings; 18 hogs; 4 sheep; a mare; a colt; 3 cows; 2 joefers; 3 uear;omgs; 2 calves; 4 pewter Dishes; a Bason; Seven Spoons; 2 Iron Pots; a pair of Pot Hooks; 2 Hoes; a Hatchet; an Old Ax; a Collar and Harres; 3 Harrow hoes; an Old Sadle Tree and a Rope; a Musket; a small Gun; Loom and Harniss; a chest and Lock and Key; a Warming Pan; aBed, bedstead and Furniture; a Spinning Wheel, 2 pt Cards and 2 Spindles; 4 Sides of Sole Leather and a Raw Side; a Cow Bell and Collar;a bread Tray; a Frying Pan; 2 glasses and Saucer; 3 Bottles and a Jugg; a Cedar Pail and a Table and other small trifles; 3 Wasitcoats; a Coat bed hat; a pair breeches and a pair stockings; 2 Shirts and a neck; a New Testament.
Witnesses are JOhn Gibbs; John Rowlet; Thomas Rowlet.
At a Court held for the County of Henrico, the first Monday in April, 1745. This appraisment of William Stiles,his Estate was ordered to be recorded. Test. Bowler Cooke-Clerk.
As Mary Stiles was mentioned as the widow of William Stiles and John Rowlet and Thomas Rowlet were mentioned as witness to the appraisement of his estate, it is almost certain that the wife of William Stiles was Mary Rowlett, perhaps the sister of Thomas Rowlett, who in his will made in Chesterfield County, Virginia, formerly part of Henrico CO, in 1780, mentions a daughter Mary Traylor.

He married FRANCIS HAWKINS COUSINS 1760 in Chesterfield CO, VA, daughter of CHARLES COUSINS and MARTHA ROWLETT. She was born 1735 in Dale Parish, Chesterfield CO, VA, and died 1781 in Halifax CO, VA.

Richard sold 100 acres in Chesterfiedl CO, VA to Roger Atkinson on March 14, 1764. He bought 200 acres in Mecklenburg CO, Va on June 10, 1765. Sold this land on October 18, 1771. Then bought 346 acre grant on LIttle Blue Wing Creek, Halifax CO, VA in 1772. Taxed on this land in 1782 and 1784 as Ricard Stiles Sr.

John lived in Laurens CO, SC in 1800, 1810 and bought 50 acres on Enoree River, Luarens CO, SC. Sold 170 acres in 1818. John went with Richard to Duncans Creek, Lauens CO, South Carolina after the Revolutionary War. John Stiles and his wife Margaret Moved from North Carolina to Tennessee in 1814. John Stiles had eight children-John Jr., Aaron, William, and Seaborn.

Notes for SAMUEL STILES:
In the Greenville Mountaineer newspaper dated August 4, 1853,"Mr. Samuel Stiles, 80 years, moved from Virginia to Laurens Dist about 55 years ago...25 or 30 years since he married and came to Greenville. He had left a wife and a large family. He has been a member of the Baptist Church for 40 years." It is also know that he lived in Laurens CO, S.C. until July 15, 1816 when he bought 1700 acres on theEnoree River from Young Grivvin in Greenville Co. At the time of his death in 1843, he owned approximately 2500 acres of land. Lias Rogers preached te funeral sermon for Samuel.
Paid personal property tax in Halifax CO, VA in 1786. Moved from Laurens CO, SC to Greenville CO, South Carolina in 1816.

William Stiles grave is located in a private cemetary on the ranch of Mrs. A.P. George (Manie Davis George) who is a millionaire. The inscription on the tomb stone reads-William Stiles, who died
June 2nd, 1836, aged 66 years, 2 mo. 24 days.
