I am researching the Perry family. My ancestor, Phillip Perry, died in 1669 in Isle of Wight Co.. In his Will, he is listed as "Phillip Perry of ye Whitemarsh". Many descendants of this Phillip Perry bear the name Burwell Perry, or even Burrell Perry. I have found no listing of a Whitemarsh Plantation in Isle of Wight, but recently found that Whitemarsh Plantation in Gloucester Co. was owned by the family of Lewis Burwell. I have also found connections of a Thomas Perry in Gloucester Co. with my family of Perrys. I would like to correspond with anyone that can tell me how Phillip Perry (1597-1669) was connected with Whitemarsh Plantation in Gloucester Co. I also have information indicating that this family of Perrys was associated with the Whiting family, as well as the Throckmorton family of Gloucester. Phillip Perry's son, John Perry of Nansemond Co., VA, sold land in Nansemond Co. to Col Joseph Bridger, who was closely associated with Augustine Warner, Sr. of Gloucester and Nathaniel Bacon of Isle of Wight Co.. I am wondering whether the Burwells in Gloucester were also involved in Bacon's Rebellion. I know that Augustine Warners' Warner Hall was used as the headquarters for Bacon's Rebellion. Thank you for your help. Zane D. Perry
PS I lived on Robin's Neck, about 4 miles from Whitemarsh, without knowing at that time that my family was even associated with Whitemarsh Plantation.
